There was one John Nipper, Co A 45 VA Infantry Regiment ,Confederacy. Enlisted 5/29/1861. Discharged after 3/15/1865. There was a John Nipper 1870 census Russell Co, VA, age 30 ,wife Mary age 23, son Wm., and son James, 11 months old. I'm not related to the family (that I'm aware of!). Just trying to learn about Russell Co myself, and haven't seen the name Nipper before. She married Charlie A. Ball around 1927. Below is all the info that I can remember on her. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Flora Magdaline Nipper was born in 1900 to a Madison or Mathias Nipper, middle or first name could have been James, son of John Nipper. John Nipper, from what I have been told, served in the Civil War. John Nipper was the son of William Nipper from Smyth County, Virginia. He later moved to Russell County, Virginia. I may be mistaken but I think John Nipper's brother was also Taylor Nipper. Any help on this brick wall would be greatly appreciated.
