    1. Cousins?
    2. I think we might be distant "cousins." My 2g-grandfather was born in Russell County in 1825. He is Isham Hall Williams. His mother was Mary Hall and his father was John Thomas Williams (my 3g-grandparents). I have some information on the Hall family, but I do not have the name William Hall in my data base. The Hall information comes from other researchers, and has always been a source of much confusion for me. I think that is because different and seemingly contradictory information has come from different individuals. The parents of Mary Hall were supposedly Isham Hall and Mary Mullins. Their children included Susanna, Lucy, Isham, Jr., Alexander, Aisley and John, all born between 1765 and 1795. I do not have dates of birth for any of them - only estimated year of birth. For about half of them, I do not know the year. The name Lucy ran through this family. In addition to Isham Hall and Isham Hall, jr. there was also an Isham Hall II. Larry Wilson

    3. I descend from Isham Hall, Jr who is a son of Isham Hall, Sr and Mary Mullins. He married Jane Mullins, and they're buried in the Isham Hall cemetery near the Pound in Wise Co, VA. Their son, Alexander Hall married Mary "Polly" Roberson, and I come through their daughter, Rebecca Hall who married William Henry Cox of Scott Co. Sarah Elizabeth Cox married Alexander Grant Parsons, and they lived at the Hurricane in Wise Co. The Robersons and Halls are considered to be Melungeon and are discussed in Brent Kennedy's books. Brent descends from Alexander Hall and Mary "Polly" Roberson through their daughter, Louisa Hall who married Wickliff Nash. 3. Deanie, Wickliff Hendricks Nash's parents are Wm Nash III, 1801-1876, and Margaret Ramey. Wickliff is the only child I included in my family file. The Nashes were called Black Nashes and were considered to be Melungeon. Wickliff and Louisa Hall settled in a large house at Coeburn and had thirteen children. Their son, Floyd Ashworth Nash was not allowed to vote in the early 1900's due to the color of his skin. He voted anyway, and was later shot in his front yard.
