While talking with some of my older relatives some years back, they indicated that she was believed to be Cherokee. There is no indication on any of the records I have seen that she was Cherokee. Recently, I have heard from other family members in different parts of the country, who have also heard that she was Native American. I do not see her name on any of the Cherokee rolls, but that would not be surprising, if she was adopted and raised by the Payne family, as is suspected.

    3. Hi, There is a DNA test by Family Tree DNA that shows ones Personal Anthropology titled DNA Print that includes Natiave American. Here is an example. There is a user manual to help interpert the results.
