Surnames: francisco,fannin,hendricks,garrett,kiser,sutherland,childress,sykes,monk,fortner,brooks Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ABC.2ACE/3802 Message Board Post: while searching through the list of cemeteries on the russell county site, i came upon an article written on august 18, 1999, by richard fulgham regarding the old lebanon cemetery and its sad state. i was moved by his words, in particular, "I love this area and its astonishing, bloody, courageous, determined and absolutely all-American frontier past." in a sense that expresses my feelings about the area. i was born in russell county but haven't lived there since 1948. however, it is a continuing love of mine and my sister's to visit russell and search for our "past". does anyone have an update on this cemetery and the efforts to further explore the area and chart the names of those buried there? my hope is that mr. fulgham is still as involved and as passionate about the project as when he wrote the article. would love to hear there is ongoing effort taking place.
