Attention Jackson Researchers. I was going through my email clearing some out and came accross the below message. I need to respond to it, because part of it is incorrect. Ellen Jackson was not the d/o John Hunt Jackson. The problem here is that there are two John Jacksons and it appears their families are being mixed up. In HH #1167 of the 1850 Russell Co. census is the family of John Jackson, s/o Eli Jackson & Elizabeth Hunt. John died abt. 1848 and his widow, Malinda (listed as Linear) is the head of the household. The Ellen mentioned below is the d/o of this John Jackson. The John Hunt Jackson family is in HH #1203 of the 1850 Russell Co. census. His first wife, Sarah Jackson (d/o Eli Jackson & Elizabeth Hunt) is deceased and his second wife, Lydia A. Owens is listed in the household with him. John Hunt Jackson did not have a daughter named Ellen with either of his wives.
