Baker fathered children with Mary Louisa Dean while still married to Martha Kilgore. Joe was the brother of our gg-grandpa John Baker so I have done some research on him also. John Baker was also quite active outside his marriage, fathering 4 children with his wife's sister. Here is what I know about Louisa Dean's family: 1880 census, Louisa is found in Copper Creek, Russell CO. She is a single sister in the home of George Dean 25, who is married to a Nancy 20 and they have no children yet. The first 4 children born to Joe Baker are listed under Louisa, as nephews to George, and using the last name Dean. Also in the home is the mother Jane, who is 40 and also noted as single, NOT widowed. When looking at the 1880 census you find that George's home is listed on the very same page as your Keith family, and also that of Joe Baker. They were all in very close proximity to each other. George and the Keith family are noted 4 households apart. I believe that the mother Jane Dean was also a single woman when she had her children. I think her age is incorrect in 1880 and that she was probably 7-8 years older than noted. I'm sure she must be the same Jane Dean found in Scott Co in 1870 with 3 children, Mary L.17, George 16 & William 10. She is in the home of a Nancy Dean, 64. In 1860 in Scott Co she is Jane Dean, 28 spinster with the same 3 children. Mary & George's ages are off a little bit but the youngest William is 2 months old. In 1880 the younger son William, does not appear to be around Russell or Scott CO area. He could be the 20 year old William Dean in Lawrence Co, KY. Lawrence Co, Ky was not a far migration from Russell & Scott Co, VA. Given the proximity of George Dean to the Keith family I would put him as a high suspect for being the father of your Priscilla. William would have been a bit young, but possible.
