    2. Deborah There is an Eliza Dean, age 3 in the 1870 Eastern Section of Cambell CO, VA Census. Father listed as Frank Dean. She had my great-grandmother Priscilla Oct 14 1873 by a Dean man. She married Samuel Vicars Mar 21 1881, he died and her children were placed under the guardianship of Samuel's cousin, David Campbell Vicars. David and Virginia married Oct 6 1885. After 1900 Virginia married a Doyle. A granddaughter of Virginia's told me Priscilla's father had a sister named Eliza that married a Baker. The only fit I have found is Mary Louisa "Eliza" Dean b. 1859 who married Joseph C. Baker Aug 21 1881. My understanding is that Eliza may have had children by Joseph prior to their marriage while he was married to Martha Kilgore and they married after Martha's death. I have access to a 1870 Russell Co VA Census transcript and found a Louisa Dean about the right age but she is living with a Gose Family. Thank you for interest in helping me. _Dawna Vicars Page: Vicars, Crabtree, Nickerson, Shore(s)_ (http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/v/i/c/Dawna-J-Vicars-CA/?Welcome=1039103104)

    3. Dawna, Thanks for the lead, but I believe that Eliza is too young. A woman who descends from Joseph Baker's brother knows that Mary Louisa Dean was called Eliza, the family lived 4 houses away from Virginia's home. The granddaughter of Virginia that gave me the lead was Crotie Vicars Osborne her mother was Mary Belle Zora Baker daughter of Mary Louise "Eliza" Dean and Joseph Baker. Why she didn't tell me it was her great uncle that was Priscilla's father I will never know. I am blessed she remembered as much as she did. She did tell me that Eliza Dean that married the Baker's mother was Janie. So I believe I now have the right bunch of Dean's but I new mystery as Jane appears to have been a single mother. Such is genealogy!
