Va. My family (Wheeler) was suppose to be from Wheeler's Ford (Wheelersford) Va. Washington Co. It was mentioned as Russell Co.,Wise Co.,St. Paul.,Washinton Co. I looked at historical maps and googled and can not find Wheeler'ford. In Wickipedi it states in 1768 There was an Indian treaty for this land and it was called Va. In 1790 the first family came from Norh Carolinia and it became Wilks Co.and now Flat Gap. Then in 1856 Wise formed Lee, Russell,Scott. Now St. Paul. I have never been there and quite confused. When was Washinton Co. formed? How could people be there in 1811(When my family is supposed to be born? How do you find family information from Washinton Co. and how do you use a map to find possibly Wheelersford in the 1800's?
