From the Wise Co. Heritage book P-85."When St.Paul began to establish itself as a living settlement, there were no bridges for crossing the Clinch River. Wagons passing through to Castlewood went up the river to Boody and crossed at Wheeler's Ford". I once lived on the south side of the Clinch overlooking the Ford.
