He states he was b. 1756 in Brunswick Co VA, moved to Rowan Co NC at age 5 or 6 until he was about 19 when he moved near the Holston River in VA. In 1778 he volunteered there & went to Boonesboro. Joseph Proctor, clergyman of Estill Co KY, and Little Page Proctor of Hamilton Co Ill made affidavits for him.
