Entered service Washington Co VA "on Holstein River" Born on Smith's River in 1755. Moved to Mecklenburg NC in 1784 & to Burke NC in 1816. While in Washington Co he lived within 3 miles of Col Wm Campbell. His states that his uncle - Frederick Starnes, his father (name not given), and his brother inlaw (Michael Moyer) were all killed on a scouting expedition to Boonesboro by a party of Indians & that he was with them.
