Kimbro Mrs. Ethel I. Sisk Kimbro, 97, formerly of 205 Academy Street, Elizabethton, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Kimbro was a native of Russell County, Va., and a daughter of the late Henry and Evelyn Mutter Sisk. She had lived in Carter County since 1929. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oscar L. Kimbro and by a brother, Robert Sisk. Mrs. Kimbro was a former employee of American Bemberg Corp. in the Spinning Dept., and Quality Dry Cleaners. She joined the First Free Will Baptist Church in 1931. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Willis L. and Carolyn Kimbro, of Norfolk, Virginia; two grandsons, Jacob "Jay" Kimbro, of New York City, N.Y., and John Willis Kimbro, of Norfolk, Va.; one granddaughter, Charlotte Kimbro, of Norfolk, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. SISK -- Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel I. Sisk Kimbro, 97, formerly of 205 Academy Street, Elizabethton, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2003, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Mr. Grady Holder and Dr. Phil Poston officiating. Music will be by JoAnn Campbell, organist, and Jerry Barnett, soloist. Committal service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Mausoleum of Peace of Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Floyd Nave, Jimmy Jones, John Geagley, Bobby Hall, Mike Lingerfelt, James "Bo" Campbell and Jennings Wagner. Honorary pallbearers will be fellow members of the First Free Will Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church, 706 First Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 6-7 p.m. Monday, prior to the service. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
