Folder 6 below & have scanned copy if anyone would like it: Russell 1793 Oct 24 Box 227 Folder 6 To the Honorable the Speaker and Gentlemen of the House of Delegates The Petition of Alexander McFarland humbly sheweth, That your Petitioner was employed by the commanding officer of the militia of the county of Russell to serve as a scout from the 29th day of May until the first of July 1790, in consequence of information shewing an intended invasion of the said county by the Indians; that your petitioner, as required, did serve the said time, for proof of which he begs leave to refer to Simon Cockrell Esquire, a Delegate from the said county to the General Assembly and to the Documents herein enclosed, by which also it will appear that repeated application hath been made to the honorable the executive and to the auditor of Public Accounts for a settlement of his claim for the said services, but without effect: He therefore prays, that your honorable House will take his case into consideration and do him that justice to which he is entitled, and as in duty bound he will ever pray Alexander McFarland Pet'n 24th Oct 93 Claims Reasonable, special Reported 26th Oct '93 Voucher to Mr. Cockrell Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
