To be clear, it seems we have a parents' permission slip and a license, as well as John Short listed as the bride's father. Peck on the 1860 census (nor 1870 etc), and Rachel is found still living at home with her parents John and Hannah in Morgan Co., KY. John's parents, Henry Peck and Elizabeth Boyd, moved to that part of KY as well, about the same time. Does anyone know what happened to John A.
