My grandmother is Emma Roxie Fawbuss; born September 1896 in Lebanon, Russell County, VA. Her father was William Fawbuss, born in Tennessee. William was a farmer and he and his wife Mary moved to Cleveland, Russell County, when he retired. I have no info on his parents. I would also like to find out where he and Mary are buried. Emma's mother was Mary Elizabeth, born in Virginia. Would also like to find out Mary's maiden name. since I do not have it. Family history has it that Mary, at the very least, was Indian, but we aren't sure the tribe. I think Cherokee myself, but have no documentation. Mary supposedly looked very Indian, as did my grandmother. Emma also had a sister, name unknown, who married an Indian and went to live on a reservation, in the Carolinas I think. Grandmother also insisted we were related to Pochahontas. Her brother, Rals Felter Fawbuss, was an auto mechanic in Gladeville, Wise County. She had 2 sisters: Sallie and Nancy Jane.
