    3. Correction, to Third method, you have to click on Forward or Reply first to open the message and allow you to edit it. Then follow the instructions below for Third method. After selecting "Wrap to Window", edit the link by using Delete to make the link be all on one line. Then hit the enter key at the end of line the link is on and hit enter to make it a hyperlink, now you can click on it to open the link. Paste it into your browser in two pieces so it is all one line. Use CTRL-C to copy and CTRL-V to paste it into your browser address bar. After pasting the first part, cursor to the end of the pasted 1st piece and then copy and paste the second piece, so there is no space in it. 2nd method, even easier, If you have Google search in your toolbar of your browser, right click just before the first character of the link and while holding the left mouse button down, highlight the whole thing by moving to the end of the second line, then right click, select copy and then paste into your Google address bar. Third method (permanent one-time fix), even easier for Outlook users Open the message, select Tools at the top of the window. Click on Options, Click on view, now check the box in the lower right corner, by clicking on it that, says "Wrap to Window". Now click on OK. You only have to do this once, from now on your links won't be wrapped. Just make sure the window you are viewing your e-mail in is wider than the link. Widen your window by hovering your mouse over the edge of the window until you see the left/right arrow then click your left mouse and make the window as wide as it needs to be to accommodate the link. The link should appear in blue text with a line under it. This indicates that it is a hyperlink. If it isn't just put your cursor at the end of the link and hit the Enter key, this will make it a hyperlink. Try it. http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.virginia.counties.r ussell/7434/mb.ashx Randy Crouse McNew Huntsville, AL -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Michelle Ligon Sent: Wednesday, May 14, 2008 12:23 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [VARUSSEL] June 1866 Tax assessment what attachments I dontseeany Hi Jalena, Click on the link first -- http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.virginia.counties.r ussell/7434/mb.ashx These messages are coming to this email list via the message board posts, so you have to go there to see the attachments. 3. OK, I found a 4th way to help Outlook users with the link problem. Before you open a message, while you are in the Inbox view, 1. click on Tools 2. click Options 3. click Mail format tab 4. click Internet format button 5. Under "Plain Text options" change the number in the box where it says" Automatically wrap at 'xx'characters. I set mine to 128, it was 76. If that's not enough try a larger number. You won't have to change these settings again, only this one time. Now open your message, click on Forward or Reply and use the delete key to make it a single line and then hit enter after that to make it a hyperlink. 3. Randy, Thanks for your suggestions. I finally found the fourth method to (hopefully) apply to my version of Outlook, and have made the change. Let's hope it sticks. I always seem to have the broken link problem with rootsweb mail in particular. Thanks again, Michelle
