    3. Just a thought, I'd first make sure the newspapers aren't already preserved and/or on film and already accessible to everyone. Sometimes the newspaper has been around long enough to still have originals of all the newspapers. Other times a local college or public library will have a collection. As for museums, in most cases there will be a county museum and here in my country in Oregon there are specialists at the museum who are intensely interested in collecting photographs and other historical items. For instance, if you have an old photo and you can't identify what's pictures, they may be able to identiy everything/everybody in the picture for you. Or you may do the same for them! If it's a photo of something they want to keep on file, they'll make arrangements with you which was satisfying to you. They'll have people on staff who are expert in preserving just about anything of historical value. I wouldn't be surprised if they'd want to come to your building and examine it in person. Almost everybody has a digital camera to borrow if you don't have one yourself. I think if it were me, I'd want to do that in addition to whatever else I might do. In the meantime, congratulations of finding something so special, and being smart enough to think about preserving it. God bless. And let us all know how it turns out, okay? Carlyine In Russell Co., my family is my grandfather, Alexander Robt Preston JESSEE (1849-1933) s/o William JESSEE (1801-1867) s/o Archer s/o of John & Frances. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Randy Crouse McNew" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, July 30, 2008 12:14 PM Subject: Re: [VARUSSEL] Historical Papers > Have them photographed with a good (7MP or better digital camera, use > diffuse light (reflected off something like white board) > to prevent bright reflections.
