He said he didn't know where he was born, but parents moved to Rockbridge Co VA when he was about 5 yrs old & he entered service there in 1777. After the war he moved to Montgomery Co VA & then Scott Co VA where he was living with one of his children. Lewis Dulaney & clergyman Elisha Martin made statements for him.
