She filed in McCracken Co KY at age 84 in 1841. She states that in 1777/78 her husband lived "high up on Holston river near the mountains"."near the line dividing between" VA & NC He served under Capt. Cocke at Amos Eaton's station, and at the newly built fort called Island Fort. They were m. 11 Aug 1779. He d. 17 Nov 1830 in Pope Co Illinois. Elizabeth's brother - Jesse Henson of Calloway Co KY - made statement for her & in his statement he said James Ward served at Rye Cove.
