He was b. in Rowan Co NC. He said he lived in Lee Co VA for several years (among other places) & that he entered service in what was known as Washington Co VA, but now part of Kentucky. He died 20 March 1849. He married Lucretia "Creasy" Coyle (Coil) in 1837 in Fentress TN. She was the dau of James Coyle. James Coyle was brother to Patrick Coyle who had son William who had daughter Rachel (Coyle) Gardener. Rachel Coyle Gardener was living in Clinton Co KY & said she lived nearby to Creasy Hoover & was her relative. She also stated that they were raised in Wayne Co KY together.
