He said he was b. 25 Jan 1758 in Shenandoah Co VA. He was living in Henry Co VA when he first entered service, then moved to Castle's Woods during the war where he substituted for Isaac Foster. He was discharged at Castle Woods by Andrew Lewis & Robert Robinson. In 1846 he said he had been living at the head of the Kentucky River in Perry Co KY & Breathitt Co KY. He married Eleanor Morgan, dau of Ezekial Morgan in Montgomery Co VA. The license was dated 8 Nov 1785. Evan Morgan was witness.
