I have seen the information posted about Lafayette moving to MN, but my research in MN cannot document this as a fact. Per his will, Lafayette died c1871 (likely in Russell Co VA). His farm was still intact at the time of his death and passed to his two sons. Several years after Lafayette's death, Harriet Virginia Patrick had a son. She remarried to John B. Compton and had several more children. Lafayette's brother, Jasper Newton Rasnake, and Jasper's spouse, Malinda Patrick (younger sister to Lafayette's spouse, Harriet Virginia Patrick), did migrate along with the Oliver Rasnake family and other Russell Co VA families to MN per the census there.
