He resided on Troublesome Creek in Perry Co. He stated he thinks he was 20 years old in 1776 when Independance was declared. He states he was born in Scotland & came to America without his parents. He lived in Sussex Co VA with Col. David Morgan & sometimes Morgan's son in-law Jordan Richardson. When he entered service he was living in Casewell Co NC. He later resided in Washington Co VA, then Russell Co VA. In 1832 he said he'd been living in Perry Co KY for 12 or 13 years. He also states he was married in Casewell Co.
