Was residing in Scott Co VA. Entered service 1775, place not given. In 1821, Scott Co he says his wife is 65, daughter is 27, and grandson 18, no names given, and he is 68. He died 2 Aug 1829. In a letter dated 1925 from Caroline Freeman Newman of Charleston Illinois, she states that William's wife's maiden name was Hannah Epperson. Mrs. Newman was their grand daughter.
