To interject a thought, I believe James Wheeler married a Harrison in Washington Co. Va about 1792. He was living in Washington Co. Va at the time he got married. Given the fact that much has been written about the Wheelers who were born and died at Wheelers Ford, most of it something someone made up, one can understand how confusion could occur concerning the 3 Harrisons buried in the Wheeler Cemetery. Many writers would have the whole Wheeler family who lived in Washington Co. in the forks of the Middle Fork Holston River and the South Fork Holston River living at Wheelers Ford, and running a Ferry here before the first white man ever set foot in the Castlewood area 1765-1770. THe fact that my Wheeler ancester, Jesse, a brother to Rev. Stephen Wheeler, and Jesse's son Stephen have been erroneously put on the internet, and many genealogy sites as living in Wise Co. St Paul, obvious to me no records have ever been researched, but conclusions reached without good research. It makes it hard to wade through all the misinformation. Many have James Harrison Wheeler born at Wheelers Ford, but forgetting the fact that his father and mother got married in Washington Co. Va. paid their land and property taxes ,lived and sold their land in Washington Co. Va. in the forks of the MFHR and SFHR Hungry Mothers Creek area, and moved to Floyd Co. Ky. from Wash. Co. Va. That said. THe 3 Harrisons buried in the Wheeler cemetery were buried there 1933, 1937, 1938. About 140 years after James Wheeler in Washingto Co. Va. married a Harrison. Thats a long stretch of the imagination to try and make a connection. Still many Wheeler researchers have tried to do that, adding to the confusion.
