I have Russell Co VA Watsons, but family left there about 1870-80s. However, as your Robert M died in 1938 there is sure to be a death certificate for him, which would give all the info you are seeking IF the person giving the personal info knew it. It should at least give the funeral home where the body was taken and perhaps the cemetery. I do not know the particulars of obtaining a death certificate in VA, it might be at the county(Buchanan)or the state health departments. Perhaps someone on the board/list familiar with this could advise you regarding VA death records. Good luck in your search.
