He went to bed in health and died." Elizabeth was left $250 in Samuel Taylor's will. This is why I included Phebe or whatever her name was in as the mother of Elizabeth Betsy Taylor. I've research Elizabeth and William Taylor md to Mahala Cromwell. The records that can't be found are a divorce from Mary Price. That is what I thought was made up. Joyce I too am trying to untangle the Taylor and Sword families. I am very interested in your letter. Who was John Mayo and where was he living when he wrote to the Boothes? I am descended from William Taylor (1785-1860) and Mary/Polly Sword's (1793-1863) son Samuel Gilbert Taylor (1811-1852) who left Russell County ca 1829 to move to Indiana with his new wife Nancy Phipps, her father Jesse Phipps and her brothers. My William, I believe, was brother to your Samuel Taylor with the two or more wives. I would be happy to share information.
