BUT, why would the pension records give her name as Sally if her immediate family (daughter) knew her as Francis??? Any ideas? Does anyone know the approximate date of birth of Sarah Francis? Jesse Duncan's pension file lists only 5 living children when he died in 1848: Nancy Lark, Phebe Lynch, Sally McCoy, Amey Collins and Hannah Green. I suspect these daughters were listed in order by birth since we have pretty much pinned down the ages from census records of all but Sally. Nancy b. ca 1792 NC, Phebe b. ca 1794 VA (prob.
