The Russell County Genealogy Group will be meeting at 5:30 pm on Thursday, February 4^th at the Russell Co Library. Genealogy Group member, Jane Oakes will introduce an exciting new resource available for genealogical researchers. Ms Oakes, also a member of the Historical Society of Washington County has been involved with their document and pictorial preservation project. To date over 13,000 pictures and 32,000 documents have been scanned and saved. There is now an online searchable index (www.hswcv.org <http://www.hswcv.org/>) of all this material.
