My ancestor John Wheeler was born in Washington County, Virginia (per census records)in the latter half of 1792 or the first half of 1793. He was 68 years old when he enlisted in the Confederate Army July 5, 1861. At that time he had lived for forty years in Yancey County, NC, which is not too far from Washington County, VA. I suspect he may have been John Henry Wheeler, but I am not sure of the middle name. When I started this thread more than ten years ago, I was looking for John Wheeler's parents, and I still am. Can anyone at least help me eliminate these two couples as possible parents? Deepest sincere gratitude to anyone who can help.
