I belong to the Primitve Baptist church started in Clark Co.Ky in 1797(near Boonesbrough) and a long line of Primitive Baptist Wheeler preachers. This family came through present day Abinton, Va. across the Cumberland Gap to Floyd Co. Their religon came with them as written so well by Elder John Sparks in his description of Racoon John Smith in Christianity in Appalachia. The James Wheeler who married the Harrison girl was the grandson of the James who died in 1804 as I understand it. The Wheeler Cemetery I mentioned is the James Wheeler Cemetery, he being the son of Stephen Wheeler the son to the James who died in 1804. The cemetery is in Booty on the eastern outskirts of St. Paul VA. I believe that you will find that the St. Clair Bottoms church was not a Pimitive Baptist Church. I think that group came later. Elizabeth, Some folks said it was a "veil". My sister was born with one and does have a degree of powers. However if you don't use them, you lose them. I can tell sometimes when something bad is going on. I get chill bumps or am just angry all day. Usually a death will provoke this. Some people don't believe in the powers, but I remember clear as a bell my grandmother predicting when someone was coming to her house, their gender and whether it was good or bad news. I will never forget my Uncle came to tell us someone in the family was dying and she predicted that the day he came. I say seek out your powers and use them to the best of your ability. You were given them for a reason and God wouldn't have you sporting them without using them. A little different direction, but just as interesting, in my opinion........... I met someone online , non-genealogy related, nine years ago. We e-mailed a lot and eventually started talking on the phone. Of course I immediately mentioned genealogy as one of my passions. Through my research, at that time, I discovered my 3x ggf , Jacob Elliott, CW soldier from WI, as buried 5 minutes from his home in Marietta, GA. He moved here to CA four years ago and is helping me raise my two granddaughters who moved in with us two years ago. Some would call it a coincidence that Jacob was buried by Robert's house, I think it was part of a bigger plan..... That has been fascinating, the unexplained nudges, it sure pushed me in a lot of right directions. I really felt our ancestors were guiding us in so many ways. If only they wouold just drop us a written note with details, now !!!
