    2. Dave Hicks
    3. Ray and list I have two Jeremiah Hicks out of Russell Co. Va. Hicks family, #1 was the son of Charles Hicks he was born in 1850, Charles was the son of William and Mary A Nolen Hicks he was the son of Robert Reuben Hicks and Christina Powers. #2 Jeremiah Hicks was the son of yet another Charles Hicks B 1851 in Ky, Charles was also the son of Robert Reuben Hicks. Robert Reuben Hicks b 1795 in Cumberland co. Va. he married Christina Powers on April 6,1815 in Russell co Va. she was the dau of Peter and Elizabeth Powers. So far I have found no indian blood in the John Hicks line of the brothers Nathaniel.John,Henry,Claiborne and Jesse Hicks. however I am not ruling out that old John Hicks born 1705 did not have. Let me know if there is another Jeremiah Hicks. Thanks and a Happy New Years to all Dave Hicks

    1. Incident at Banners Corner
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ABC.2ACE/3746 Message Board Post: I'm hoping someone in the area will recall this incident. A patron remembers an article in the Bristol Herald Courier about a person coming from another country (possibly England) to Banner's Corner for some paranormal reason: an event, perhaps astrological, but the patron is uncertain. She thinks it might have been in the mid-1980s to 1992. Since there is no index to BHC, we are hoping someone might remember the incident or even have kept a copy of the article for a local history file or if a staff member might remember something about the incident. I think she just wants to know why the person came to Banner’s Corner and if anything did happen. We will be most grateful for any suggestions you might have for locating more information on this topic. Thanks in advance, Reference Department Bristol Public Library

Surnames: CRANK Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/ABC.2ACE/2005.2009.2009 Message Board Post: Hello Michael Dye: I found the Will of John CRANK you posted on the Russell Co. VA web site. I just started genealogy this summer, I've gotten info that my line goes like this: GMother; Mary Catherine CRANK; d/o William Sylvester CRANK/Lydia BRYANT, s/o John CRANK/Mary MASON; s/o James M. CRANK/Ellender TAYLOR. Then it gets conflicting: then I show James M. CRANK is the son of a Abraham or Samuel CRANK, b. 1755 PA or VA; m. Sara WASH. Abraham CRANK is the son of John H. CRANK, b. 1705. Do you have any enlightening info to straighten this out? When was the John CRANK born? TIA Happy New Year, Harry Van Noy in IN.
