Hello all, I'm Laurie Morales. I am interested in obtaining records from Russell Co., Virginia law order books that have been indexed on the Russell Co. genweb sight. Could someone tell me what I can expect to receive when asking for these records and an approximate cost? Is there more to be had than the brief entries listed? I am interested in finding out more about Clement Mastenlee/Matinlee/Mattingly/Matney, Rachel Mattinee, and Adam Lash, all listed in these law order books. I think Clement Matinlee may have been my ancestor Clement Mattingly/Matney who moved to Hardin Co., KY about 1800, died in Brown Co., Indiana 1838. I suspect Adam Lash may have married a widow Elizabeth Oney some time before 1797 in Russell Co., daughter Rebeckah Oney married William Rogers 1810 Hardin Co., KY. Clyde and Pauline Thank you both for the information. Clyde, can you tell me where Harvey and Celia are living in the 1910 census. I have not been able to find them. The four children listed in the 1880 census as illigimate are children of Eliza Jane Taylor the oldest daughter of Harvey and Celia. My biggest question I have was Harvey married Twice? In the 1860 RCV census Harvey is 24, Celia is 22 they have 2 children Eliza 3 Emily 7/12 1870 Census Harvey is 35, Celia 28 There is 6 children: Pam.12, Emily 10, Rachel 8, Hard to read looks like Martha and maybe 6, John 4, Lucinda 1 In the 1880 Wife is listed as Sarah age 42, Harvey is 45 Children: Eliza Jane 23 Rufus 18 Emily 16 Madison 15 Rachel13 Manda 12 Pricy 10 Frank 6 Florence 5 Robert 3 The above are listed as sons & daughters The next 4 are listed as other Wesley 6 David 3 Taylor 7M Ida 3 In the 1910 census Harvey is 76 Celia 75, there is Son Frank age 35 Grandson Leonard 9.
