This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Sargent/Slate Classification: Lookup Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ABC.2ACE/3856 Message Board Post: I am looking for family and info on J.Sargent , I know his second wife was Alta Slate ( my Grandmother) they had one child Elizabeth . He died around 1934 at the family farm in Swords Creek.. i know he had many children from his first marriage and I am trying to locate info on him and this first family.
Just realized that I failed to back up my database the first of May. I generally back it up every 30 days and store the back up copy off site (safe deposit box). I also failed to remind everyone to do this. If you have added new information since you last did a back up it is wise to back up your database now. I noticed that I passed 60,000 names in my database. The major surname is Combs and I have two different Combs lines that do not cross, at least as far as we have found. Carter Versailles, KY
I have just started researching the Holt line. I am not sure if my husband is related to Jacob Holt or not. His line is John W. Holt and Lucretia J. Martin parents of Albert Franklin Holt father of Rufus Lee Holt father of Perry Holt my husband. Frank's wife was Mary Elizabeth Cowan and Rufus was Alberta Huff and Birdie Seals my husband's mother. -----Original Message----- From: Dave Hicks [mailto:davelah@bellsouth.net] Sent: Wednesday, June 01, 2005 11:17 AM To: VARUSSEL-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [VARUSSEL] Sarah Ann Phipps Mary Do you have a connection to Jacob Holt b 1768 who wife was Elizabeth Peddicord? a Dau Catherian Mary Holt B 1811 married my GG grandfather Aquilla Moore in Carter Co. I'm looking for information on Wade Ramsey. I believe he was born May 7, 1867 in Wise Co., VA. The Wise Co., birth register shows his parents as David R. Ramsey and Mary however the 1870 Census shows his parents as George & Polly Ramsey. I know that Polly is a nickname for Mary so I'm not too concerned about his mothers name. I would like to confirm his father's name though. He was married to Cordelia Porter around 1890 sometime. I'm not sure when he died. They had the following children: Dedric 'Fred' Ramsey, Letha Ramsey, Ruth Ida Ramsey, Robert Ramsey, Ada Ramsey, Carson Ramsey, Sarah Eva Ramsey and Ira Gose Ramsey.
