Yes, that is the Thomas in question and that makes more sense that his wife, Elizabeth, was a Gibson. It was just not adding up that she was a Holbrook. If you have a source for Elizabeth's parents, perhaps Mike Dye will change the 1850 Annotated Census. I have a related question. There seems to be a difference of opinion among researchers as to whether George McCoy's wife was Mary Brumfield or Mary Crump. There is a Russell deed dated 2 Feb 1807 in which George McCoy and wife Mary sold 50 acres to the several heirs of John Crump, deceased. Although it doesn't specifically say that Mary was also an heir, it appears that she may have been selling her share to the other heirs. Is there any proof she was a Brumfield? I know they named the third son Brumfield McCoy. Max

Haven't made it back beyond Virginia/Kentucky late 1700s. I descend from William and Mary who were in Whitley County Kentucky early 1800s and I believe William is related to Thomas and Hugh from Virginia. Also, trying to find out where my great great grandfather Abraham died and is buried, can't find info on his death. He died in Corbin Kentucky before traveling to Oklahoma, on the way or after arriving in Oklahoma with wife Sarah Powers and other family members.

I am not sure since I know so very little about the Thompson line of my family. About all I know is that William Farley married Elizabeth Thompson and they are my 5th (I think) great grandparents. Emily appears to have been the daughter of Alexander Lee and his wife (first cousin) Sarah Guthrie Lee. They were part of the Lee's of Virginia who spawned (among others) the great General Robert E. Lee. I know that James and Emily split up, but no details. My daughter-in-law is the multiple greats granddaughter of Emeline Compton, daughter of James and Emily, who married Richard Yates. My daughter-in-law is descended from Emeline Compton, twin sister of Charles' Angeline. Their mother, Emily, was the daughter of Alexander Lee and his wife, Sarah Guthrie Lee. They were part of the famous Lee family of Virginia. They were also in Russell County, and if you go to the GenWeb site you will find more stuff. We knew that Emily and James stopped living together, but no details. Was there ever a divorce? Do you know when they died and where they are buried? Emeline is buried in a cemetery over which Virginia built a road.
