She says she & her brother lived with their father in Montgomery Co VA. She also states her brother is 18 months older than she is. Randall Fugate said on one tour he served under his father Josiah Fugate. On a couple of tours he was at Rye Cove & Blackmores fort. He was discharged at Castle Woods by Andrew Lewis & Robert Robinson. In 1846 he said he had been living at the head of the Kentucky River in Perry Co KY & Breathitt Co KY. He married Eleanor Morgan, dau of Ezekial Morgan in Montgomery Co VA. The license was dated 8 Nov 1785. Evan Morgan was witness. Was residing in Scott Co VA. Entered service 1775, place not given. In 1821, Scott Co he says his wife is 65, daughter is 27, and grandson 18, no names given, and he is 68. He died 2 Aug 1829. In a letter dated 1925 from Caroline Freeman Newman of Charleston Illinois, she states that William's wife's maiden name was Hannah Epperson. Mrs. Newman was their grand daughter. Her mother's maiden name was Hannah Graham & she died in 1837 (1827?) in TN. She also states that her father's hand had been shot in battle & looks like it says he was missing the end of his thumb. Sarah & William Hurley of Buchanan Co made statement for her. She named Edward Collins her atty. Nathan Robinette was the justice of the peace & James H Gillispie was the clerk. Could there be another Harvey with a father named Samuel? ____________________________________________________________ Harvey & Margaret Jane "Etter" Taylor This file submitted by Michael Dye Harvey Taylor was born about 1820 in Russell County, Virginia, the son of Samuel Taylor & Nancy Vermillion. He married Margaret Etter of Wythe County about 1845. Margaret was born about 1826. Harvey and Margaret had eight children: 1) Mary, b: abt 1846. 2) Rees, b: abt 1847. 3) Edwin, b: abt 1851. 4) Nancy C. b: 29 Jan 1855, married John Chrisman Barrett. 5) Samuel, b: 10 Jul 1856. 6) Charles, b: 10 Oct 1858. 7) Lucy A., b: 18 Sep 1861. 8) James, b: abt 1866. Margaret died sometime before December, 1875 and Harvey died 14 Aug 1877. Additional Information has come to light that Harvey Taylor and Margaret Etter had an additional son, Frank H. Taylor, b. 27 Apr 1863 in Saltville, Smyth Co., VA. Apparently Frank was disinherited by his father, for unknown reasons. Frank Taylor married Antona Clevenger. He died 21 Nov 1914.
