Va. I started to school in that church. Monnie Dorton was my teacher. By the time I was in the 3rd grade they bussed us off of Copper Creek to Sulpher Springs School. Some of the families who went there were. Able & Dora Oney, Charlie & Ada Mitchell, Vince & Bess Meade, John & Dona King, Charlie & Clara Osborne, Hattie May Irick & girls, and my family Craig & Tina Owens, my Grandparents Denton & Delia Owens. I have a picture of me and my sister standing at the corner of the church, but only a small portion of the corner shows in the picture. I know it is a long shot but a picture woul;d be priceless to me. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Don't take my word for it, since I didn't check on it today, but that's what I could figure from my last visit to their website. Google maps has a good mapping program online too, and you can select the topographic, as opposed to road map, type. This was a very helpful substitute to Topozone! The Van Lear Cemetery is online below, with information and obits as we currently have them. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~jccem/CEMLIST/WEBBBUTCHERCEM.html There are more Dollarhide's buried there, but sadly they are listed in the unknowns with the others due to the stones being un readable or not present at all. There are 5 other cemetarys near by, however none have stones and have deterioted greatly. One correction is that DOLLARHIDE, Telia (Butcher) and DOLLARHIDE, Maytelia (Butcher) are listed as 2 different individuals, they are the same person and should be identifed as Nancy Martelia Butcher. The pictures are a few years old and headstones are now there where they are not in the pictures. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I surely hope it is successful, and it looks absolutely wonderful. http://www.werelate.org/wiki/User:Quolla6/Test_Portal This is obviously still in its infancy, and just so you know, click on the text under the photos, not on the photos themselves or you'll just get info about the photo. Hi Jalena, I don't think you and I have talked about our Pecks before, simply because I hadn't gotten into researching that line very much yet. So...I will do a little look-see about Ellis Patton Peck and Charlie on the census records etc. and see how they connect to the ones I have. I do not have the Heritage book yet, I'm sorry to say. Before too long though, I'll be headed to the Russell County library and will look them up in the Heritage book for sure. I'll email you directly in just a day or so, Michelle ----- Original Message ----- From: jpeck612004 To: [email protected] Sent: Thursday, May 22, 2008 6:31 PM Subject: Re: [VARUSSEL] Peck Michelle, is there no info on the Russell county web I have not look just wondering what would Chistoper Peck and George Peck be to my husband Peck's Ellis Patton Peck is his grandfather and Charlie his great grand also Michelle was there any info in the Russell county Hertiage book on Chris or Geroge you may have already told me if you have sorry I need to look back at info my brain dont work so good I am 46 but think my brain is 86 thanks Jalena ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mitch" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]>; <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, May 21, 2008 8:36 PM Subject: Re: [VARUSSEL] Peck > Interested in the Chistopher Peck named below...son of George Peck and > Barbara Lickliter. > > I've always suspected he was son of George, but documentation is tough. > Any found? Does anyone know of a Jean Little that placed a query on this board in Aug 1999 about her James Henry Little family? Michael Dye answered her. I have a friend that is interested in this Little family. Does anyone know where I can access the Buchanan Co. VA Marriage records in which I think use to be on the Russell Co. VA Genweb page? Thanks, Doug Bishop <[email protected]>
