I have seen "tax lists" developed from these materials, but this is the first time I've seen the originals, and I am beginning to suspect some inaccurate "assumptions" about who was where. These precincts could be different parish boundaries or some other physical definition such as valleys, rivers, etc. Sometimes the precincts were even militia districts. A good summary for tithe lists, personal property tax lists, and land tax lists can be found at the Library of Virginia website.
