Are you saying that the genealogical books by state, county, and country, are not on microfilm? And that the family histories are not on microfilm? Are all their books and family histories in their online catalog? If they are in the online catalog, then one could determine before planning a trip to SLC, what was available in SLC in the area of interest. As for the time period for renting a microfilm at a FHC, the time can be extended for, I believe, 6 months, or even indefinitely, if you need more time. BTW, there was a Marriott hotel about 3 blocks from the SLC FHL back in the early 1990s. Valerie
