Most of the book is devoted to the history of Pocahontas and descriptions of the early coal mining operations. However, Chapter XVII is headed "Some of the Passing Parade of Early Pocahontas." This is followed by what appear to be transcriptions of what may have been advertisements in a newspaper, but there is nothing to explain the source or to give a date. The pages are blocked off into open-end squares, some larger than others, and each individual "advertisement" is placed in a square. Page 71 has two columns of squares, 14 squares in all. The bottom left square contains the following: LESTER'S GARAGE St. Clair Street Pocahontas, Virginia J. Lester Prop. There is no other information included. I hope this is of some help.
