On the 1850 census for "Alexandria Town" in Alexandria County, are G. W. Maxwell, age 37, and wife Virginia, age 23. I assume that with the initials G. W., his name was George Washington Maxwell. I will appreciate it if someone with marriage records for the period about 1840 would check to see if they can find a marriage for this couple. Possibly they were married in the Alexandria area.
