There are tons of maps online for the Great Wagon Road. Just do a google image search. Here are some of them. It is important to remember that around Roanoke/Fincastle there was a major fork in the road so to speak. Most of the folks who ended up in NC and later in East TN as well in the 1740s/50s/60s/70s, turned south there and went through the gap in the Blue Ridge Mtns, going through Franklin Co. VA (Rocky Mount), on down through Pittsylvania Co. into North Carolina. ALSO, alot of them stopped any of a number of places along the way for many years. Some came through the gap and into Franklin Co. and went East as far as Halifax County (today's borders).
