    1. [VAROOTS] Re: for Doris, Early Va. Marriages
    2. I just thought of this now, but like I said before the marriage might be recorded in as many as three counties, I have found that in some cases where the marriage was recorded by the minister where he worked, then in the brides parish records and then if it took place outside of the brides parish then it was recorded there. Sometimes in as many as 3 counties. But what I wanted to mention this morning is that when it comes ONLY TO MARRIAGES you might want to make that trip to the actual county court house or library. I have been thru the records here and their are I believe between textbooks, some microfiche, and some at the court house records that go from 1600 to present. I think 1850-1853 might be missing but I've seen these records scattered like that. To the POINT, while searching thru these old records I found actual letters of consent from the parent attached to the marriage bond. So it might be worth it to make a trip, I'd call ahead and check on the library hours and court house hours, Kristina www.nyvagenealogy.homestead.com
