According to application for widow's pension, Martha V. BEAMER declared that her husband William B. BEAMER died at Shenandoah Junction in June 1886. That seems to be in West Virginia, but he is buried in Warrenton, VA. Looking at map, that is quite a distance. Is there a Shenandoah Junction in Virginia - also what is or was at Shenandoah Junction, WV? __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo! Was William perhaps a railroad engineer/conductor/fireman/brakeman???? Regards, Freddie S. g3gson of Philip BEAMER of Carroll Co, VA.
Hi Freddie - Thanks for your response - but no, William was disabled having lost his right foot and ankle at Hatcher's Run at the end of the Civil War. He was a teacher and sometimes listed as a singing master. What she listed was that he died of sunstroke and concussion to the brain. I presume he must have fallen and struck his head. He lived in Warrenton, according to all records we have. I suppose Shenandoah Junction could be construed as a rail junction - but wondering why he was there. One of those mysteries. William B.
