Does anyone know of another free source to find social security numbers from the Death Index other than Rootsweb.com? I have had no luck there. The only other one I'm aware of is Social Security itself thru the National Technical Information Service (NTIS) which is a government agency as well. Their database is typically sold to employers on a subscription basis for them to double-check social security numbers to prevent fraud.
