    2. Cristy, the map I refer to is one I printed out from the Rootsweb site and it is no long assable for some reason, as I have tried. When ever I get anything from the internet I add the URL to it so I can return if nessessary. This is not the case now however. I tried so I could send the URL to the list for this map has the counties north of the James River and west of the Chesapeake Bay. Includes the York River and the Rappananock river. Title on the page is Tidewater Counties & Cities, Geogrphic Region. The following Counties are on the list for this page Caroline, Charles City, Elizabeth City, Essex,, Gloucester, Hanover, Henrico, James City, King George, King &Queen, King William, Lancaster, Mathews, Middlesex, New Kent, Northunberland, Richmond, Warwick, Westmoreland, and York. also states that many of these counties are also known as burned record counties whose early records were distroyed. I do hope this explaines the map to you and where I found it yrs. ago. My ggg grandfather was in KY and finally settled in Jefferson Co., IN and I am having a very hard time finding where he came from. He was in Rev War, Va LIne, Romored to be from a Caroline Co and I find there are two of those one VA the other Delaware. Before 1798 when I found he was married in Shelby Co., KY I know nothing, also between then and 1810 when he appeared and settled in Jefferson Co., IN I find nothing. He is documented well in Jefferson Co., IN So I have used thin threads before 1810 and non connected anywhere. I know where his father in law has been but my ggg has not been mentioned. I have taken a hiatis to clear my mine of several months so I am now back with a new mindset hopeing to gain some new insite and these books have come available to me so I feel something is amiss for me in reading these. Jack if you are reading this I will be in contact with you for more books. You are a dear person.
