Thanks for your suggestions but, the problem is that the only piece info I have is that the person died in 1921...nothing else. The first step is for me to find out exactly when the person died, and that's what I'm looking for. After I find the exact date, then I can search for obit, burial location etc. Library of Virginia has microfilm reels of deaths which occurred in 1921, but the reels are not available for interlibrary loan, and I don't live anywhere near Richmond. The public library in Lexington, VA does not have the information. Don't overlook the possibilities that may be available to you through the gen./hist. societies at the place - the "where" - that your person died.
