I will appreciate somoene looking up the 1830 U.S. Census for Virginia, and telling me if my ggg-grandfather James H. Jones is listed in one of the counties there. He was born abt. 1811 somewhere in Virginia, married Martha Wadkins, and their first known child was born in Virginia in 1833, as was their 2nd child in 1835. But in 1839 their 3rd child and all following children were born in Hardeman County, Tennessee. Perhaps if I know what county they were in 1830, I can find some information on James' ancestry. At this point I can go no further back, I do not even know for sure how to spell Martha's surname, is it Wadkins or Watkins. I am unable to find anyone who is willing to lay claim to either of them, except their descandants and we know very very little about them.
