In my quest to put more black history up on the norfolk and pac sites, I found some info about the "first" black churches that i will be putting up on the sites in the next few days. one book i found is called Free Blacks in Norfolk Virginia 1790-1860 by tommy l. bogger. i uploaded the pages containing a list of free blacks and it covers all over va not just norfolk and pac. and i will be adding other info as time progresses. This seems to be the best book i have found so far on this subject...... I also ran into a lady with the virginia beach historical society today and she's going to be having some people from portsmouth contact me to help me with my search! thanks!
