Your welcome:-) glad to help. I learned to try O with A surnames from Attridge. Just about all transcribers put it as Ottridge. When I see copies of the documents it's usually a clear A to me. Makes the searching so much harder. margy ----- Original Message ----- From: <Nettiebug1059@aol.com> To: <VAROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, July 26, 2003 7:04 PM Subject: Re: [VAROOTS] 1880 Loudon Co., VA Census Lookup..... > Thank you Margy, > I had never tried just going by the first names, but I had tried different > spellings for the last name, just not quite that different than the > origionals...Sure do appreciate your help....Lynette > > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > >

Then I took a guess and tried Wilmer. I knew the other first names were a long shot that would have tons of hits. Luckily you gave us that name and they used it on the 1880 census. None that I know of. Essentially all of my early Dean/es were born in or around Richmond (Henrico County), VA. Christopher P. Seeking Lawson and Benjamin Barnett of Spotsylvania. They could have been brothers. Both married into the Richards family. Lawson Barnett married Catherine De La Fayette Richards VOSS on 22 February 1822 in "probably" Culpeper County, Virginia. Benjamin Barnett may have married Isabella Richards in 1820. Benjamin may have also married two different Benson girls. "Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
